We are so excited to have Marna Widom a part of this year’s market. Join us this December the 8th from 9am to 3pm at the 4th annual Freedom Holiday Market, located at the Bean Cycle Cafe & Wolverine Farm Bookstore 144 North College Ave., Old Town Fort Collins. Here’s a little bit about the work Marna does:
Marna Widom works with wool, paper, paint and pieces of nature to bring you treasures for mantle, tree and play. Marna and her children scoured the land for the perfect acorn tops that she then gently stuffed with wool to create the perfect, simple ornaments to hang from any special place you find. She found the prettiest paper and folded, so very precisely, many, many paper stars, big and small, that can also be hung just about anywhere to light up a room. She takes many feet of un-spun wool and sculpts it, with her magical felting needles, into santas and their lovely wives (or santa mamas). Winter princes and princesses join them in their snowy kingdom.
Marna also makes wool hats, felted wool scarves and paintings of all sorts from tiny watercolor gnomes to huge acrylic abstracts AND spends much of her time with several tiny children who keep her in a place where magic is alive and well.
