We are so excited to have Lauren a part of our first ever Springtime Craft Market! Join us Sunday, April 21st, from from 11am to 4pm, in front of the Fort Collins Food Coop on Mountain Avenue in Old Town Fort Collins. Here’s a little bit about the work Lauren does and a sneak peek of what she’ll be showing:

Based out of Denver, CO with strong roots in Texas, artist Lauren Larkin arrived in the mile high city 5 years ago to pursue her love for painting and the outdoors.  Lauren is first and foremost a painter.  She has been painting for as long as her memory can recall, but it has most recently been her love for wood burning that has taken this hobby and turned it into a business.  Heavily inspired by philosophers, authors of all sorts (especially Kerouac), nature, and above all, music- her wood burned work (quote signs in particular) will give you a little spark of motivation and insight for your everyday.

All of her woodburn designs are original drawings, painted with an acrylic wash, enhanced with color pencil, and finished with a Triple Thick varnish.  Some work includes vintage fabrics and other treasures from Lauren’s small obsession with thrift stores and garage sales.  “I strongly live by ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.’ “ she says.

Lauren’s featured work at this year’s Springtime Freedom Market will include her wood burns- anything from small signs to larger wood panels, her “light as a feather” jewelry made from recycled leather products (such as leather scraps, leather pants, and even some old boots), a few original paintings, and her custom “Good Dog Portraits”.
