On April 21st join us from 11 am to 4 pm at 250 E. Mountain Ave. for the latest Freedom Market. This year we are excited to be having Patrick Richardson return with his hand-bound books and prints. Here is a little bit about his work and why he does it.
Patrick Richardson is an illustrator and graphic designer by trade but also a self taught book binder. He hales from Michigan where is love for the outdoors began. It is no surprise that he moved to Colorado to be fully engulfed
in nature and use it for his artistic inspiration. He uses his love for backpacking and cycling to inspire his current work. In past markets, his hand bound books adorning bikes or flannel have been a great success in this bicycle and nature rich culture. His books are made with 90 pound Canson drawing paper and are great for journaling
or sketching. Each one is hand bound and glued with archival PVA book glue. Aside from his books, Patrick also enjoys screen printing his bikes and illustrations. The bikes are the same which appear on the books but the illus- trations are uniquely drawn by things which are inspired around the outdoors. For this coming show Patrick will have new screen-prints which are great to hang around your home or work. These are also printed on archival paper and will last a life time.
