What do you make?
I make handmade bags, wallets and other accessories. I love to work with reclaimed fabrics, like old trousers and shirts. I also make a lot of my textiles through bleaching, dyeing and painting. I love to make accessories that pop because it is an easy way to add color to your wardrobe.
How did you get started in the creative industry?
I got my start in the creative industry attending Denver School of the Arts, there I learned all the skills needed to launch my bag company in 2011. Since then I have had the opportunity to work with the Denver Design Incubator and many of the designers there. I currently attend school for fashion design and have furthered my sewing and fibers knowledge, which has contributed to my current bag designs.
What books or websites keep you creatively inspired?
Right now, I am inspired by two books. The Psychology of Andy Warhol by Andy Warhol, because his take on every aspect of life gives food for thought, and 1000 Ideas by 100 Fashion Designers because it shows new inspirations and new ideas in the industry.
What is one of your favorite gifts to give?
My favorite gift to give is a themed present, I love to gather a bunch of little things that all will matter to the recipient, so they have more to open on Christmas!
Describe your dream workspace.
My dream workspace would have all the right storage, and everything would be labeled clearly. It would have plugs everywhere and a large tabletop, it would also have a view and the walls would be covered in cork to pin things on the wall!
